Postcard MarketingPostcards are a great way to do direct mail, if you know how to use them correctly.  I know many people who have unsuccessfully tried to use them and therefore say “they don’t work”.

Well, that’s not entirely true.

With postcards, you must first realize that your objective is to simply get someone to take an action.  As is the case with most business, you either want them to visit your store (using a coupon), visit a website (for a quote or a special offer), or call your phone number.

That’s it.

With postcards having such limited space, it’s important to be mindful of this objective when designing your layout.  What you want to do is provoke curiosity and get them to take a step.  What you don’t want to do, is to try and tell your prospect everything there is to know about your business.

Because with such limited space, there is no way for you to do this.
